My assignment was to create a name and domain name for a lobster and seafood restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine
I did some research in Google and Yahoo and find plenty of reference to Lobsters restaurants and companies that sell seafood online.
I decided to go with the name Meta Lobster Bar Harbor for the restaurant and choose the domain Metalobster.com (is available)
The prefix “Meta” is becoming very popular in the internet (Metaweb, Metaverse, etc.), and since one of the most scalable business opportunities should be selling lobster and seafood online I choose this name that will appeal to an increasing number of potential client’s surfing the net.
I did some research about the name in Wikipedia and Answers.com:
Meta (Greek: μετά = "after", "beyond"), is a common English prefix, used to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, used to analyze the latter. For example "metaphysics" refers to the book that came after Aristotle's work on nature Physics in the classical ordering (and, by extension, to the philosophical domain of this book), but "meta language" refers to a type of language or system which describes (i.e. is about) language.
In epistemology, the prefix meta- is used to mean about (its own category). For example, metadata are data about data (who has produced it, when, what format the data are in and so on). Similarly, metamemory in psychology means an individual's knowledge about whether or not they would remember something if they concentrated on recalling it. Any subject can be said to have a meta-theory, which is the theoretical consideration of its foundations and methods. Wikipedia.com
meta
One definition of this Greek word is transcending, or going above and beyond. In the computer field, it defines things that embrace more than the usual. For example, a metafile contains all types of data. Meta-data describes other data.

MARKETING STRATEGY
We will try to provide to our visiting customers in Bar Harbor a different experience in a seafood restaurant with modern decoration and good service, with the focus to attract younger customers (most of the places are traditional “old style” ).
For the online sales we will outsource with a logistics provider and a wholesale seafood distributor, we believe that there is plenty of opportunities for selling see food online, playing with different packaging of seafood and lobsters parts and accessories for its consumption.
We will focus our efforts to position ourselves in the main search engines through paid key words, etc.
We will also sell electronic gift certificates that we will also market to affiliate companies.
One project that we are considering is to open a virtual METALOBSTER store in SecondLife.com, to gain visibility and attract new customers.

Book purchase experience
On the morning of February 6th I start to look for the book Don't Make Me Think in google.com,
I was looking for the fastest way to purchase it and I type "Fast book purchase NY" on google.
The initial results of the search point to Amazon sites, in the left part of the screen under the sponsored links I notice in the 2nd place a link to "Buy Books at eCampus.com", I thought that an a provider specialized in University and college textbooks could be a cheap and fast option for the purchase.
I click the sponsor link and went to ecampus.com, put the name of the author and I get two results, for the first edition and second edition of the book.
It call my attention that the price of the first edition was higher USD 32,90 versus USD 29,90 of the second.
I decided to purchase the second edition and the site took me to the shopping card where I can choose the delivery options, given that I was in a hurry to get the book I choose UPS 3 business days delivery, which was more expensive and I paid 6.99 +2,99 for the service.
Then I choose to pay with AMEX and give them all the necessary data to close the transaction and my email for notifications about the situation of the delivery.
I receive an email on Wednesday confirming that the book was shipped to my address in NYC and I received the book on Thursday evening.
In conclusion was a hassle free experience altought later I found other site www.cheapesbookprice.com that allow to find different books stores that sell the book and compare the prices, then I realized that ecampus.com was one of the more expensive, for example Amazon market place offer the book new for USD 21.94.-
That's all.
